Living with an awareness of God's presence allows us to receive His guidance and counsel.

There are times when we find ourselves in confusion, uncertain of the path to take. A king of Judah, Jehoshaphat, experienced panic and uncertainty when faced with the imminent threat of three armies. In his distress, he made a crucial decision: to seek the Lord and cry out, "O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless against this great multitude that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You" (2 Chronicles 20:12). The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel to deliver God's message to King Jehoshaphat and all of Judah: "Do not be afraid or dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's." Through Jahaziel, the Spirit revealed to Jehoshaphat how God would save His people from these three armies. Remarkably, the Lord caused confusion among the armies, leading them to destroy one another.

Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, as stated in John 14:16-17: "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." In our moments of panic, fear, and confusion, let us pray for God to fill us with His Holy Spirit, so that He may guide and counsel us. For we often find ourselves in uncertainty. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Living with an awareness of God's presence enables us to receive His guidance and counsel.
