"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50: 20
This passage is derived from the story of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers, betrayed, forgotten in prison, yet ultimately rose to the highest position in Egypt after Pharaoh. Despite the wounds and injustices, he faced, Joseph was able to discern God's hand at work. His experience teaches us that faith in God strengthens us in the face of trials. A) In our trials, we should always place our trust in God, for His silence does not necessarily indicate His absence. God revealed to Joseph that he would be elevated in dignity. (Genesis 37:5-10). However, he had to endure 13 years of significant trials and temptations in his life before becoming governor. Everything seemed to suggest that God was not by his side. God's silence does not imply His absence. Without faith in God, he would not have been able to withstand.
B) In our trials, let us believe that God has His solution. He is All-Powerful, Omniscient, and He is also Sovereign. Nothing indicated that Joseph would emerge unscathed from this situation and hold such a position in Egypt. God is Omniscient.
He knows what He is doing. His thoughts are not limited like ours. (Isaiah 55:9). He is Sovereign as well. He acts with His children as He wishes. (Romans 9:20)
C) In our trials, let us be patient in waiting for God's timing. For with God, it is never over. God is never late; He has His timing and is not constrained by time. He was always in control of Joseph's life. (Psalm 90:4). Patience is a testament to faith. Let us act according to our abilities while respecting His commandments. Waiting without discouragement is to believe that God is working even when we see nothing. Romans 12:12. Rejoice in hope. God transformed evil into good for Joseph. He possesses the same powers and loves us. Let us place our trust in Him so that He may intervene on our behalf, even when everything appears hopeless in our lives.
Amen.
