We read in Mark 4:35- 41, the story of Jesus in a boat with His disciples. He asked them to go to the other side. During the crossing, a great windstorm arose, and the waves filled the boat with water.
At that moment, Jesus was sleeping. The disciples, seeing that their lives were in danger, became afraid even though some of them were experienced fishermen. They woke Him and said, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
When He woke up, Jesus rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Jesus Christ calmed the storm. He is the God who controls every circumstance.
Our lives are like a boat on the sea of this world. Along the journey, we face storms: sickness, unemployment, failure, disappointment, misunderstanding.
Is Jesus Christ in your boat?
The disciples were afraid, and from a human perspective, that is understandable. But Jesus said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith? Even when He seems silent, He is present and in control. He calls us to put our faith in Him.
What is your storm today? Invite Jesus Christ into your life and let Him be the captain. As it is written in Revelation 3 :20. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Trust in God. He has the power to calm every storm in your life.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come to You with my storms and my worries. You know my situation. I invite You to take full control of my life. Increase my faith and teach me to trust You, even in difficult times. Calm my storms and fill me with Your peace. In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
May God bless you!
